About The SciComm Hub
I’m Andrea Pérez, a strategic science communicator with more than a decade of experience working alongside major international scientific and technical european institutions such as CERN, CNRS, and EU Framework Projects.
With a background in Geology I focus my work on the areas I know best—Earth Sciences, Energy, Environment, Geology, Engineering, and Climate Change—while adapting to other scientific and technical contexts.
The SciComm Hub is my freelance personal project. It aims to be a connexion hub where strategy, communication and science converge to connect your project with your target public. Through The SciComm Hub, I offer my scientific expertise and my deep experience in strategic communication to support your project every step of the way.
Whether you need a long-term communication plan, a powerful narrative for a single document or hands-on support for a targeted communication campaign on social media, I put my skills at your disposal to craft tailored content in English, French or Spanish.
If you’re curious about how The SciComm Hub can help bring your ideas to life, don’t hesitate to get in touch. I’d be happy to chat, understand your needs, and send a tailored quote.

My journey in science communication has been both broad and meaningful. I began as a university intern and later took on the role of scientific communications officer for a major European project focused on energy recovery and geological CO₂ storage. During this time, I managed technical reports, educational and outreach content, exhibitions, press articles, strategic campaigns, and communication plans tailored to a variety of audiences. —in English and Spanish.
Later, in Toulouse (France), I worked as a research fellow in environmental geochemistry at the Observatoire Midi‑Pyrénées (CNRS), (with extended stays at Oxford). As part of a Marie Curie programme leaded by the University of Oxford, I received rigorous training in scientific writing and public communication. While conducting research, I also engaged in public outreach: giving talks, preparing reports for the European research network, and writing publications for international conferences. This experience not only deepened my scientific expertise but also sharpened my ability to do scientific writing and communicate complex ideas with clarity— It also led me to become proficient in three languages.
For three and a half years, I worked at CERN, European Organization for Nuclear Research (Switzerland), in the Community Engagement team, overseeing communication in English, French, and Spanish. There, I developed integrated communication strategies for global scientific projects, created content across print, digital, and audiovisual formats, managed social media campaigns, coordinated events, and handled media relations. I also received media training and acquired skills in crisis communication. Alongside this role, I continued to engage in smaller-scale outreach through volunteering at science centres, museums, and community initiatives.
Today, I am fully dedicated to The SciComm Hub, channeling all this experience—scientific, strategic, creative—into supporting both small and large-scale science communication projects that truly resonate.
